Connect BookFunnel and every giveaway sign-up lands on your list.
When a reader signs up on one of your BookFunnel opt-in landing pages, BookFunnel tells AuthorMailingLists, the reader joins the list you chose, and they get your usual confirmation email. No spreadsheets, no copying addresses by hand.
- One private address per list, made in your dashboard
- Works with BookFunnel opt-in landing pages
- Readers confirm by email before they get newsletters
- CSV import for BookFunnel plans without the API option
Readers who already confirmed are simply added to the list; addresses that bounced before are never mailed again.
Why connect BookFunnel at all?
Most indie authors grow their lists by giving a free book away through BookFunnel. Connecting it means those readers start hearing from you while the book is still fresh, instead of waiting for the next time you remember to export a file.
Your private address
In Connect & Import, choose a list and press "Get my BookFunnel address". Keep it private: anyone with it can add sign-ups to that list. You can make a new one at any time.
Double opt-in, as always
Every BookFunnel reader gets your confirmation email, sent under your pen name or the list's sender name. Your welcome series starts when they confirm.
Only real opt-ins
Sign-ups from opt-in landing pages are added. Plain book claims from pages without a sign-up are recorded and ignored, because a download is not permission to email.
Built around the moments authors actually send email.
The page target is specific, but the underlying system is the same: capture the right reader, draft the right message, send through clean infrastructure, and keep the next email from becoming a chore.
Reader magnets
Give away a prequel novella or bonus chapter and grow your newsletter from it automatically.
Group promotions
Join BookFunnel group promos and keep every new reader who opts in to your list.
Mid-List plan authors
No webhook on your plan? Download your subscribers as CSV from BookFunnel and upload the file in CSV upload. The Email and First Name columns are read automatically.
How to connect BookFunnel, step by step.
- 1 In AuthorMailingLists, open Dashboard, then Connect & Import, choose the list for your BookFunnel readers, and press "Get my BookFunnel address". Copy the address it shows.
- 2 BookFunnel offers its webhook option on the Best Seller and Publisher plans and turns it on when you ask: email support@bookfunnel.com and ask them to enable the BookFunnel API integration on your account.
- 3 In your BookFunnel dashboard, open Integrations, add a new integration and choose "BookFunnel API".
- 4 Paste your AuthorMailingLists address as the URL, choose JSON (form parameters also work) and save.
- 5 Attach the integration to your opt-in landing page in the page's mailing list settings, then sign up on the page yourself with a spare address. The confirmation email should arrive within a minute, and the Connect & Import card shows the reader as added.
What our users say
"As an author, building a loyal readership is essential, and newsletters play a key role in maintaining that connection while helping to promote and sell books. However, many email marketing platforms charge substantial monthly fees, which can quickly become expensive for independent authors. Author Mailing Lists offers a refreshing and cost-effective alternative. Rather than charging a monthly subscription, it provides access for a modest annual fee, making it more affordable than many comparable services. The platform is straightforward to use, with helpful templates designed to make newsletter creation simple and professional. There is even a template specifically tailored for authors. Users can add their email content, headers, images, and book details, then either save the newsletter or schedule it to be sent at a chosen time. One of the standout features is the fully automated option. By entering your author details and book information, Author Mailing Lists can create and send regular emails on your behalf. This is a valuable tool for authors who understand the importance of consistent communication but may struggle to find the time or inspiration to write a newsletter every month. Overall, Author Mailing Lists is an excellent solution for authors looking for an affordable, easy-to-use, and time-saving newsletter platform. It removes much of the stress from email marketing and allows writers to focus more on writing while still keeping their readers engaged."

Quick answers before you start.
Which BookFunnel plans can send sign-ups automatically?
BookFunnel offers its webhook integration on request for Best Seller and Publisher plans. On other plans, export your BookFunnel subscribers as CSV and import them; imported addresses follow the usual re-confirmation rules.
Will readers be emailed twice?
They get one confirmation email from you. Readers who have already confirmed onto your account are simply added to the list with no new email.
Does this work with StoryOrigin?
StoryOrigin does not send sign-ups to outside addresses yet, so for now download your StoryOrigin subscribers as CSV and use CSV upload. We have asked StoryOrigin to add AuthorMailingLists to its built-in list.
What if my address leaks?
Press "New address" on the BookFunnel card. The old address stops working at once; paste the new one into BookFunnel.
